Detailed Design and Supervision of Works
Companhia Cearense de Transportes Metropolitanos - METROFOR
Fortaleza - Ceará, Brazil
Nov/2009 to Jun/2014
The Sobral metro is characterized as a railway passenger transport service that will be operated by trams over an extension of 14.5 km, with 12 stations distributed between the North and South stretches, forming two inverted “U’s” and interconnecting with the Coração de Jesus station. The job also foresees the construction of a Service and Administrative Center, as well as an Operating Control Center.
Having 7,2 km extension and 6 stations, this stretch will be jointly used for cargo and passengers using the same track way of the old RFFSA, now operated by the Transnordestina, having a route that contours the city center and connects the Cohab II neighborhood at the extreme east, with the Sumaré neighborhood on the west side.
This is a new line, with 6.7 km extension and 6 stations, connecting the Industrial Hub to the Grendene region, where the old Camocim railway branch is, and from there to the Cohab III neighborhood, via Junco and Terrenos Novos regions.
